Kompendium Announces the Release of a Swift Client Library for the Factom Blockchain.
Kompendium, one of the 28 Factom Authority Node Operators, and a specialized software development company working on data integrity and information services, is excited to announce the creation of a powerful Swift JSON-RPC client library for the Factom blockchain.
The Factom protocol is a standalone blockchain solution that can exist as a layer above any blockchain. It allows for data to be published and secured continuously in real-time, without the need to handle crypto-currency.
Swift is a relatively new compiled programming language by Apple for iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and Linux applications. The adoption of the language has been rapid, and as of 2018, it was ranked the 14th most popular programming language. Swift is a statically-typed language heavily influenced by Python and Ruby. In addition to improved control and syntax, Swift offers fast execution speeds. As it is the language for native programming on Apple devices, Swift has become increasingly important and has the support of a burgeoning and active developer community. As of July 2019, 24.75% of all mobile devices were running Apple’s iOS.
The Swift client library is meant to attract new developers and energy into the Factom blockchain ecosystem and to support the development of value-adding applications leveraging the Factom protocol.
The Swift client library for the Factom blockchain can be found on the documentation section of www.factomprotocol.org, or directly here: https://github.com/kompendium-llc/factom-swift-client
